The History of Heating

B.C.

In Greece and Rome, central heating has been used since as early as II century B.C. The first known floor heating system was the hypocaust, which translates into "heat from the bottom", this is how houses of the rich and public bathhouses were heated.

XIX

n the XIX century - the gas heater (1855), solar heating (1877) and the electric heater (1892) were invented. This is the century in which gas heating gained an advantage, thanks to the development of the gas network and the low price.

XX

n 1942 Gustav Ospelt, the founder of Hoval, develops the first simple boiler and gives rise to the central heating system. In 1993, Hoval completed the research on the most effective condensation technology by patenting Hoval aluFer®, a heat exchanger used in the UltraGas boilers.
